![]() - Pharmacology BookI bought this book to study for a CRNA interview. I got in, so I give props to this book. It is a good basic review of disease processes and related medications. The only complaint I have is that information different pieces of information may be found in different chapters related to pathophysiology, so to study a single drug may involve review in multiple chapters. Rating: - my favorite pharm booki used this book extensively for my pharm course. it is very thorough and probably sufficient for what a med student would need. goodman's is probably more comprehensive, but that is a massive text.if you combine this book with some good flashcards, you should be all set Rating: - Good reference, not for teachingI'm a medical student, currently taken pharmacology during my pre-clinical years and i don't recommend this textbook. Its voluminous, poorly written, and not logically organized. Its really only good as reference book and that's it. If you want to learn pharmacology buy a Lippincotts Illustrated review of pharmacology or Golans principle of pharmacology! Rating: - Great bookPrompt delivery and book came in new, although the packaging was very messed up. Could possibly stuff the package to prevent damage. Satisfied with my order though - thanks. Rating: - Still the Best Basic TextOver the years I have purchased many editions of this classic text and have never been disappointed. Years ago I sat in Dr. Katzung's classes when he was a young man (and I was younger!) This book is invaluable because of its varied content--1. background physiology which is so important when one needs to review and keep up-to-date on new developments, 2. comparisons of chemical structures as new products come onto the market and 3. summary tables showing the different characteristics of the various drugs in any drug group and classification. This is the one clinical pharmacology text I wouldn't be without. |
