![]() - Great for New Nurses and ReviewTwo of the authors are professors at the college I attended for nursing school, so, I admit I am a bit biased. Dimensional analysis is the best method for nursing drug calculations for me. This book gives enough review work and explains well. Worth the money. Rating: - It wasn't what I expected but it is very helpful in pharm recall.Although I did not want but appreciated the review of pharmacology, what I was looking for the most was a step by step illustration of several proportion problems that led into the dosage calculations using similar step by step formats; but I was disappointed because this book does not do that and with what I paid for this book and the description that was provided that's what I was led to believe this book would provide. So I'm still at the same point I was at in the beginning, looking for a book to help refreshen my memory on proportions although I have found excellent material else where to help me with dosage calculations themselves. Rating: - GREAT BOOKAwesome book, i felt that it was very helpful, and very useful. It did just what I needed it to...get me through different types of nursing dosage calculations. Rating: - Excellent book! This is the only boook I needed for med dosage throughout my rn studies. Ver simple, graphc, straighforward, and easy to understand. I absolutely recommend this book. Rating: - great book if you want all the WRONG answers! We used this book at my college for our math class. Did the publishers or editors actually read this book? In every chapter, and I mean literally, EVERY chapter, the example problems had typos in them. There were numbers in the calculations that even my math instructor could not figure out where they pulled it from. And don't bother to try to check your work with the answers in the back of the book... in every chapter, our class (and instructor) found at least 3 problems that had the incorrect answer listed in the back. I would love to know how the people who have created this book (as this is the 8th edition) have managed to not have this book pulled and not used from schools due to the inconsistencies. It was a miracle that my class made it through this semester having to use this book. I would not recommend it to anyone, except maybe an editor. |
