Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Review of Robbin's Review of Pathology
I used this book as a resource of practice questions during my pathology courses in Basic Sciences. I feel that this resource is ok, but there are better resources out there. My reasons for my rating are that I found the question stems to provide to much information so that you were easily able to answer the questions, unfortunately this gave me a false sense of security when preparing for exams. On a more positive note I found the explanations to each question very thorough (though I did find a few errors / contradictions in some of the explanations). Over all I think this is an ok resource to use for questions, but I recommend using it in addition to more challenging question banks if you have time.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Hematology sections only
I don't know about any of the sections other than those on hematology and infectious disease, because I haven't gotten that far in my studies yet. I'm a clinical laboratory science student, and I thought that the Red Blood Cell/Coag section and White Blood Cell/Lymphoma sections were a great review of everything I've studied in two semesters of hematology (Medical students and MD's take heed: Those geeky lab techs KNOW THEIR STUFF). I had fun working through the problems. Really. I also liked the comprehensive explanations of both the right and wrong answers in the answer keys. I thought the infectious disease section didn't cover enough, and it certainly didn't cover enough bacteriology or virology.

Still, overall, I enjoyed working through those three sections, and plan on tackling the immunology section next week.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Robins Pathology (excellent review textbook)
Robins review of pathology helped me very much.
The questions and answer explanations were exactly what
I needed to better understand pathology. I would recommend
this book to any health science or medical student.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A must Have
I would have not gotten through the second year of medical school nor the Step I without this book. The questions themselves have for the most part multiple steps of reasoning which means you must come prepared before tackling this book. My favorite strategy was to use this book after reading Rapid Review Pathology and tackling the questions associated with that book. Once I felt confortable with the basic concepts and ideas this book would drive the point home. Additionally, most of the questions are longer than the usual step I questions, so if you based your timing on this book you will be able to finish every block on the boards with time to spare.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good book...
Good for 2nd year medical students Organ Systems Course. Just questions with explanations... THIS IS NOT A TEXTBOOK... Buy the shortened versions of Robbins if you're looking for nice summaries.
