![]() - Read it all! This book is a must. The best out there. Don't rely on screen books. For somethings, you just must have a reference book, and this is the one to get. Rating: - Best core surgical textbook currentlyBetter than Greenfield and Schwartz. Of course has the pitfalls of most textbooks with out of date references, but not much to do about that. Good outline of physiology and pathophys of diseases and has a decent, not great, description of procedures. The changes they made from previous editions were good ones, making this the best core book available. Rating: - Absolut nice !Great seller, good product, Fast shipping. Would do businnes again . Great price ,great service! Rating: - online stuff is mostly junkthey sell the book saying premium edition and expert consult...which is some BS really .... there is some junk on their website...instead it is better to buy the normal edition which is of less price and same book..also with online edition so ...no need to buy the expert consult...also they say they have some videos on their site..and i was too excited to see them ...but it was a disaster...only five videos...and not really usefull ... no sound either explaining them or whatever Rating: - excellent textbookWe, surgical trainees in Malaysia, can be divided into 2: those who prefer American textboks, and those who chooses British ones. The trend lately is shifting heavily to the former. Among the american textbooks Shwartz is most popular by far, followed by Sabiston. I tried very hard to read Shwartz but found it boring (and induces sleep too easily for a busy resident!) with poor subsections/paragraphing to highlight important points. I was fortunate enough to discover Sabiston. Its format would appeal to both the american and brit group with clear subsections and usage of easy language. Chapters usually starts with a historical prespective which is not too daunting, but enough to entice readers to appreciate developments in a particular field. Another gem is the selected articles section which highlights important, must-read, classical articles at the end of each chapter. So to those of you who find Shwartz too difficult to read, I recommend this excellent textbook. |
