![]() - Schwarzbein PrincipalI've been doing the 'healing diet' for about 2 months now and I have to say I feel so much better. My doctor recommended the book to bring down my cholesterol, high insulin level and high CRP level. I haven't had a repeat of the lipids yet, but based on the way I feel, I'm certain the numbers will be lower. I also purchased the cookbook but haven't used any of those recipes yet as I'm still on the healing diet. There are recipes for the healing diet in the Principle book. I use those and they are great. Buy the book. You will be surprised. Rating: - Low Carb - How Low Should You Go!I have been low carbing for two years - mainly for health reasons not for weight loss. Having read several low carb diet books I can definitely say that this has been one of them. However, a redeeming feature of this book was the succinct explanation of the insulin/glucagon relationship and the importance of eating your carbs at every meal. Some other books suggest you may take your carbs with or without fat and protein - this of course may trigger an insulin spike. After advising not to consume man-made food products, Schwarzbein incredibly endorses the consumption of tofu and canola oil - go figure. Still, low carb is the way to go for health and/or weight loss. The consensus seems to be - keep the carbs down to 50-70g per day and once again life will be beautiful. Hallelujah :-) Rating: - This is the TRUTH about weight loss!! What have you got to lose!! A Must READ!On my 1ST week, I lost almost 6 lbs., on my 10th day I was 7.2 lbs. lighter!!! This book was recommended to me by one of my dearest friends, and it is NOT a diet, but a LIFESTYLE! I LOOOVE the whole entire concept of this book.. This is NOT Atkins---not even CLOSE! I could enjoy my favorite foods such as fruits, vegetables, meat, and so many other things that you couldn't normally eat on a "LOWFAT DIET".. Lowfat diets DO NOT work!! There is NO counting calories, I do portion control and I have not even really begun to exercise as much as I would like, but I'm going at it strongly this week! 3 x's is sufficient for me... I would like to lose about 50 lbs. and this is like I said NOT a diet, but a LIFESTYLE! I have sooo much more energy...my husband even told me he already notices a change in my body size!That to me is SO IMPORTANT mostly because I'm very self-conscience.. I am shedding and I feel better than I have felt in a LONG LONG TIME! I HIGHLY recommend this to anybody who is trying to lose weight and keep it off for good! I can't wait to see what 1 year will do for me!! :D In 1 year I could choose to stay overweight or eat properly!! Rating: - The Schwarzbein PrincipleI like this book very much, I have found a lot more information in it then I expected. It is easy to read and understand. Questions that I had listed to ask my Dr. were answered here. I'm very glad I bought it. As a matter of fact I already own this book, and this was purchased for my granddaughter. Rating: - AmazingThis book is absolutely amazing with such important information. Definately makes sense. No more obsessive dieting for me it will ruin your health. |
