![]() - Not yet ready for KindleDon't get me wrong; I love the paperback, but I bought this for my kindle, and was sorely disappointed. The tables (that make up the majority of the book) were not properly formatted for the e-book, and the arrows used to signify increases and decreases show up as question marks instead, as the kindle's text does not recognize those icons. Rating: - Great Review Book for PAs alsoThis is a great book for both Med Students studying for Step II Boards and for PA Students getting ready for their National Boards. Rating: - good for reviewthis is a good book to review the existing knowledge.... do not use this book to gain new knowledge.... excellent mnemonic help, thats good... i think this book need some more articles,,,,specially in paediatrics surgery and psychiatry... thank you Rating: - Not the best study aid this timeWhen I took step one, this was my bible, and it prepared me very well. This time, the book gave lots of facts but did not prepare me well for the case-based questions of step two. I did not feel confident at all when I left this exam, and I had memorized this entire book. There was just not enough detail. I would recommend learning this book but then also doing tons of practice questions as well. Rating: - Not as good as First Aid for Step 1I was very disappointed with this resource for CK prep. I found Step 2 secrets to be far superior. I purchased and read First Aid for Step 2 CK based on my positive experience with First Aid for Step 1. Much to my disappointment, First Aid for CK contained quite a large amount of basic information that just isn't high yield on step 2. For example, the basic ins and outs of ECG. On the exam, pertinent ECG findings are usually given, and then you're asked to make a clinical decision (e.g. next test or step in management) based on the ECG findings and other data presented. Step 2 secrets is a much more clinically oriented review of material for CK. WARNING: don't rely heavily on First Aid for CK or you'll be disappointed. USMLE world and Kaplan Qbank are probably the best review resources out there, with review books serving as supplements. Unfortunately, First Aid for Step 2 CK was not very helpful. See my review of step 2 secrets, as I consider it to be the best text resource (remember, only as a supplement to online question banks) for CK. I'm not bashing the First Aid series because many are very good books. For example, First Aid for step 2 CS is right on the money (see my review of First Aid for step 2 CS). |
