![]() - Pediatrics (NMSIS) The format is helpful. It contains pertinent information, that is well orgainized. The questions and answers with explanations puts you in the test taking mode and gives detailed content for the answers. This edition sorely needs to be updated. 2000 edition. Additional sources should be used to prepare for an exam. Do not rely on this source alone. Rating: - Time consuming but excellentThis book is more in depth than blueprints pediatrics. A lot more pages to go through so you have to be disciplined. The best part is they start from step one and explain concepts. Versus blueprints which seems to assume you already know the concepts and they point out the more important details to know for Step 2. The neonatology and cardiology sections were great, so I read them instead of the corresponding sections in blueprints. I think there are a lot of wonderful sections to read to get a good foundation on pathophysiology. Some NMS books (like NMS Medicine) have come out with the 5th edition 2004 - which has a nicer layout, larger book size, easier on the eyes, and some nice algorithms & tables. You might want to wait for the 5th edition of Pediatrics. |
