![]() - Content is generally good but too many typos and errorsI think that this is an adequate review for pediatrics. It is also nice for going over basic medicine topics again. However, I have found many typos and errors in tables(and I am only on page 131 out of 300). For example, Table 10-1 lists all the hemolytic anemias and sickle cell as macrocytic. Later on the chapter does cover the material properly. These sorts of errors waste a lot of my mental time and effort. Rating: - Has everything you will need...This book has everything, I bought the older edition and it has everything you'll need to pass the boards, take care of pediatric patients, do well on a clinical rotation and beyond!!! Rating: - aNot too sure what to say about this book. I didn't want to give it a bad review bc it is an excellent book, however, it does not work for everyone. First, the book is very organized and it doesn't use too many big words. Most of the information needed is in the book, though it is more on the sparse end. The bad: well, this book did not work with me. I tend to like explanations that answer the 'why'. This book doesn't do that. In short, this book is excellent for people who were able to do well in medical school by reading lists and bulleted notes, but not for those who needed to read Robbins. Rating: - Blueprints pedsThis book is pretty good for studying for the shelf, however doing question banks will likely be more high yield. Overall, much better than a textbook, but still pretty verbose. Rating: - not EXACTLY what i expectedI bought this book in order to finish my studies to USMLE STEP 2. It is comprehensive and up to date but i think it is not focused on the test as many other books are. As so, it enphasizes with too much details some points and keeps to superficial at others. Anyway I would buy it again and I recommend it to whom have a lot of time to prepare for the test because it will take sometime to cover it all but there is nothing you need to know that it is not there! |
