  - Still Going StrongOur Olevia is 6 years old, in use everyday and still has a great picture. When we purchased it, it was half the price of the Samsungs and Sonys of the same size and the picture looked better! Its a 720p and the eye can't tell the difference of 1080p until you get to 37". It doesn't have as many inputs as today's TVs do, it only has a DVI input, not an HDMI and 2 component inputs (one HD and one 480p) as well as a cable input. I've used a PS3 with it as well as a Dish HD receiver. When we had cable, I used a splitter and connected one input to the HD component inputs and another to the cable and thus enabled its picture-in-a-picture function. The picture is vivid and sharp. If you can find one of these gems, I recommend buying it for a small room or bedroom. Rating:  - ok but can't watch tvcheck online forums..I am among the many Olevia owners who find the picture just fine until the screen goes black..its not worth plugging/unplugging (over and over).. inexpensive but never again and tech support ranges from unavailable (phone system problems) to "sorry..you're on your own". I owned the TV for a little over a year before it went black. Rating:  - HD TV Syntax OleviaExcellent product. I'm impressed with this TV. Two year old and it does a great job. Prompt delivery. Rating:  - YOU WILL REGRET BUYING THIS TVI bought this tv to surprise my husaband when he returned from the Middle East. We had it 2 years. It now goes black all the time. I'm a Television Consumer reporter and would never recommend this TV. It didn't have that many bad reviews two years ago, but it does now. Do Not Buy This TV! Read the reviews. Works for awhile and then goes black. Invest in something better. It will eventually break on you too. Rating: - Have had two of these for 4 years - works great - but not perfectWatch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R6532Q1V4YRR8 They work pretty good - but the problem is that after much much use - there is burn in issue - of course that is true with almost all LCDs. We have had no other problems with one exception. The tvs are very sensitive to low signal level. At 1080i - it doesn't like component switches or direct connects from the PS3. It cuts out and fritzs. I have a video of this I will try to upload. I would also like to know if other people have firmware upgrades past the initial one that allowed the tv's to work with scientific atlanta remote controls??? Michael |
