![]() - Better than I expectedI love electronics, so when I spotted the Kindle it got my attention. I didn't buy it right away. You can buy a second hand laptop for this price and I had seen other ebook devices that didn't seem to make it. I bought the Kindle before going on vacation and it met all my expectations and more. What an easy device to use. Yes, I did the "next page" too often, but found the "prev page" worked just as well. The User's Manual was one of the best I've ever used; it answered all my questions and then a few more that I did not know I had. While on vacation, I wanted to purchase another book. Stepped outside, by the ocean, and within a few minutes I had my book. This device is great and I am going to find it hard to purchase a "hard bound" book ever again. Rating: - Revolutionary Device for All ReadersI am absolutely delighted with my Kindle. I am a news junkie and so appreciate that I can read the NY Times, The Wall St. Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek Magazine, Time Magazine, several novels and scripts and almost most of all that it's green. No papers to throw into bins! Every day I get the news as I have looked forward to seeing it at door and reading it over my morning coffee. I know the WWW has instantaneous news, as do the cable networks. But I enjoy reading great writers/journalists, particularly those who write Op-Ed pieces. I also love novels and now I can have them with me. I hate to carry newspapers around and books and now I have all that in my Kindle. I know there are some problems (I have trouble knowing what page I'm on in a newspaper) and I miss photojournalism a lot. But I love this thing and I know I'll keep it forever because it's the first of it's kind, a revolutionary product. And I'll buy all the new versions of it. Right now I'm telling all my friends about it. Imagine what it means to people who are elderly or bedridden because of surgeries. I love my Kindle. -- Susan Blakely, actress Rating: - KindleI really love this product. I have arthritis in my hands & holding a book & turning pages is difficult, especially when reading in bed. The Kindle is lightweight & I don't have to deal with page turning at all. I do find the right side 'button' for page turning is too long. It is very easy to accidentally turn the page with such a large button. I think this problem is resolved in the next version of Kindle with a smaller button. I was very disappointed to learn that the Kindle will not accept the downloadable books from the public library because of the time limit on them. I would like to see this made possible in the future. Book buyers will still buy books, but we shouldn't have to purchase every single book we want to read. There are some free books available on the internet. I also love the ability to change print size. This is very important to seniors with failing eyesight & others with visual disabilities. Aside from being very useful, this product is just plain fun! Rating: - I love my Kindle!!!!I got my Kindle as a gift from my husband about five months ago and I just love it!!!
